VoIP/IP-Telephony

Entering the communications market as an IP-telephony (or VoIP) provider (whether prepaid or postpaid) entails legal and regulatory considerations increasingly comparable to operating as a conventional or legacy telecommunications provider. The Law Offices of Thomas K. Crowe, P.C. represents growing numbers of VoIP and Internet-based service providers offering a diverse array of communications services.  Our experience includes counseling and representing such entities in a wide range of contexts, including FCC matters such as Universal Service Fund compliance (499-A registration, filings and exemption certificates), VoIP E911, the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA), Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI), and Disability Access and TRS. We have also handled matters involving FCC enforcement proceedings, federal and state entry and licensing, federal and state taxation and assessment compliance, commercial transactions and disputes as well as other issues.  In short, we have significant experience in representing innovative providers of Internet-based communications services in all communications-related legal areas.
